when I notice my python is shedding, how much should I increase the humidity in his tank? thanks

If he is actually shedding (peeling the skin off) don't do anything. If you notice that he's "blue", a daily misting with a spray bottle in the morning and evening would help. I also use a moist hide box (a small closed tupaware container with a side entrance hole with some moist sphagnum moss in it.
My BP usually crawls in there when he's blue and even sheds in there. Keep the moss moist but not soaking wet.

thanks where do I get the moss? i have a hide box just like you described, but I put wet leaves in instead, because I wasn't sure where to get the moss... he hasn't been in there once.

You can get the moss at any garden center. You want long fibered sphagnum like they use in hanging baskets, not the ground up peat moss you mix with potting soil.

True sphagnum does not mold. In fact it is resistant to fungus and bacteria. It was once used as a wound dressing on humans.
