NERD Line Ball Python
My wife, Michelle has acquired a NERD Line male ball python named "Jake".
Jake is 3 years old. I have to wait until he de-stress's from the move and the photo session and then I can get his weight, but he is really a laid back guy and doesn't mind being handled. Even so I like to keep his stress down so he feels welcome and not afraid of his new surroundings. I've enhanced the photos some just to bring out the coloration on "Jake".  His belly is as smooth and white as can be:  I love that tail with the nice unbroken stripe on it.  "Jake" is from NERD's retail line, thus they won't tell you diddley about the ball python, just that it's a normal. So, we don't know if "Jake" is het for anything. Notice after the stripe on his back that there is a long expanse of black before you start seeing the dotted pattern on his back. Could he be het for "stripe". We will have to pair him up with a female and see what happens. bob |

Generally if a snake is known to be het for something the breeder will tell you, and raise the price accordingly!
The unbroken line is just a pattern variant. It really doesn't signify anything. My female has a similar stripe that goes from her head 1/3 of the way down her back. And she's a regular old import.

He is pretty but far as being able to tell if it is a het by looking at him there is no way. Het just means that he is carrying that recessive gene and is able to produce babies that will look like the het
If you breed him with a norm. Female it will be in the second generation before you will find out if he is het and then only a 25% chance of that. |
