Re: Can You Tell Age of a Young Python?

The problem is a snake will grow based on the amount of food and the environment it is kept in.

Welcome to HC.
I think it would be very very difficult to tell the age of young snake. Can you ask the pet shop where and when they got it? You might be able to trace them back to the breeder and find out when they hatched.
Good luck!

pictures would help. And size of enclosure has nothing to do with it. As long as it is fed properly, then it will grow

I said nothing about the size of the enclosure.
I said environment. Temperature, humidity etc.
The old wives tail about animals only growing to the size of the enclosure is nonsense

god, and the sad thing is, there are so many people who believe it still.. lol I mean, maybe its me, but I never thought that ANY animal would only grow as big as its enclosure... i look at it as I grow just as fast in a 2 bedroom apartment as I do in a 4 bedroom house.. lol
