Anoles do require a bit more than you'd think to be happy, for one i'd say a 10 gallon tank would work, biggers better, UVB lighting, they also have a pretty high temp and humidity requirement, not to mention though it is a god idea to provide a small water dish, you should also have a dripper dripping onto a large leaf somewhere in the tank, anoles prefer to drink water off of leaves, not out of a dish. So hopefully your younger cousin is old enough to understand the care involved, they really are a blast to watch, i don't own any, but only because I want to get Cuban Knight Anoles, figure I won't get green and Knights. Hope this helps a bit.

well im sure anoles wouldnt complain with a house with the accessories you mentioned, when I was a young and fearless reptile lover, or more so a kid that was blinded with the urge to hunt/find/capture any animal reptiles in particular. an anole was my first
store bought reptile. it lived in a 10 gallon aquarium with some grass and a water dish, and the occasion cricket. that lizard lived almost 8 years with no real proper 'care'. i guess I got lucky.
(im probably wrong just a bit tipsy and had to post this... sorry if I dont make sense...)
i guess im just trying to make a point while every bell and wistle is nice, its not always necessary. as long as the temp/humid is close. ive never had problems.... until now that is... haha long story short anole problem solved.... it dissapeared. i assume he was finally lunch for one of the two pythons.
