Shed Issue #2
I have ball python and she doesn't want to shed. She first went through a shed back in September and is now going through another here in January. She had gone off feed for the winter and I've tried everything I can find to help her shed, pillow case etc. As soon as I noticed that she was going to shed I bumped up the humidity from around 40-45 to 60... and the only part that came off is the tail and the stomach... I've tried the pillow case every other night for three nights and still no improvement. Any helpful ideas?

Re: shead issue number 2
You can soak her. How long did you leave her in the pillowcase and what technique did you use for it?

Re: shead issue number 2
I too would recommend a nice long soak, followed by another pillow case party !!!!

Re: Shed Issue #2
i put her in about 7ish at night and check on her in the morning and take her out when I get off work at 3.... and let her alone over the next night.... i didnt know there were differnt methods for the pillow case... all I do is I soak a towl in warm water and fold it in half and put it in the case and I put her in between the folded towl.. about how long should I let her soak?

Re: Shed Issue #2
We have the school's ball at the moment, which every time she goes back to school she has, shed problems (retained eye caps). She is housed in a sterlite container while she is here, which really helps with the humidity. We have been putting her in the pillow case with a damp towel dropped in the bag (not folded so she can move around the towel easier) her every other night for about a week now (she is looking good one eye cap off). We put here in the pillowcase at night because they move around more at night then during the day.

Re: Shed Issue #2
Don't fold the towel, just wad it up so she can move through it.

Re: Shed Issue #2
15-30 mins should be ok. Use luke warm water and make sure it's shallow enough that she won't drown.

Re: Shed Issue #2
Something I have also done after a good soak, is take a damp towel in my hands and let the snake slither through my hands (that has the wet towel in it) into someone else. It is like giving them a massage and they seem to love it. The left over shed comes off then the go though the towel in my hand.
