Bad Shed - Opinion Please

Ok we had the school's ball over the summer, she came to us with retain eye caps and left over shed in different parts of her body. During the summer we got her to go through two complete sheds and she looked beautiful when she went back in September. We have had her over Christmas break, I tried to feed her today and she is in a shed again, but still has left over shed from her attempted shed at school. I'm thinking I'm going to keep her until his shed is complete and she looks great again (no more retained eye caps). She is supposed to go back tomorrow, would it be terrible to just keep her until the shed is over? Or should I take her back the way she is now? (I just had surgery so; ’m only getting around to taking a good look at her now).

This is frustrating, I have attempted to talk to the teacher about the humidity issue but it looks like we are not getting anywhere. Sean doesn't have him this year as a teacher so; he isn't able to keep a close watch on her.

Thanks, for letting me unload!

Re: Bad Shed - Opinion Please

Can Sean find soemone who does have that teacher to pay attention to the humidity? Is there a humidity guage in there? That might help someone pay a bit more attention.

Re: Bad Shed - Opinion Please

One of the problems is the cage isn't really set up for a ball or any kind of snake. Last I saw it, it had chicken wire sides (I think the teacher put some kind of wood on the sides now but I'm not sure). I'm not sure about the gages at all. I'm still trying to convince him that she needs to be fed more than a mouse every few weeks. LOL When she is here, she eats like a queen LOL. I've tried explaining the nutritional value of rats over mice. There is no one in the classes who is interested in the animals this year (that's why we brought 4 home for the holidays). Sean usually feeds all the animals (he is borrowed from the councilers office where he helps out because he only has 5 classes at middle school instead of 6). I have a feeling that next summer we will end up with even more of his critters! At least next year Sean will be in high school and will not have direct contact, which will make taking them home harder. LOL

*ahem*...
may I suggest a white lie- to protect the snake....

"it died...sorry" .....

I personally couldn't stand to see an animal at a school that supposed to be used for education in horrible conditions...
chicken wire?..... maybe some wood...?

Re: Bad Shed - Opinion Please

I figure next summer something will happen to it...because Sean will have changed school and won't see the teacher after June and we will still have the snake. LOL

Here is a good one for you...we took everyone back on Monday except "Princess" Sean and Marty told the teacher that we were keeping her until after the shed. The teacher wasn't paying too much attention I guess. About two days later he calls Sean out of his fifth hour class in a panic because the snake is gone. Sean had to remind him we still had her. LOL
