baby ball python gets into everything...HELP |

baby ball python gets into everything...HELP
no matter what I put on the top of his tank to keep him in he tries and succeeds to get out...when he gets out while at night when i'm sleeping...he goes to the heating vents along the walls and i'm afraid he's gonna get himself stuck one of these days...how would I get him out without hurting his delicate scales if he does get stuck.

What kind of tank is it and top? I use duct tape to keep my bp in, lol

We have used tie downs that we got at Big Lot; I have also made some out of 1" web straps (can get at Walmart by the yard) with a "D" ring. You pull the strap trough the "D" ring. I attach Velcro to the side that pulled through the "D" ring and the web strap where the other part of the strap came through. Both of these worked to keep snakes in. I lost an adult ball for about 2 weeks as she escaped, so we have been there. Hope this helps!

Tie down straps. Similar to D-rings only with a clamping mechanism. If its good enough to strap down a motorcycle to a truck, its good enough to hold a snake in. You can get a 4pack of them at home depot for $15 or so.

now is it actually able to lift the top off or is it getting out through some sort of space? I know that some of the screen tops have open corners for electrical cords to come out, is it somehow getting out through a hole or something like that?

ty all for ur suggestions I will definately get those straps... thing is if this is just a baby I hate to see what I have to do to keep an adult in lol...just to be funny. but in all seriousness ty all for ur support I appreciate it...i'm new in owning reptiles and i've come to luv them more than furry animals!

ty very much merlin and my baby water dragon is on medicine now to help him with his problem I explained about in the water dragon forum. he also is soakin in luke warm bath water as suggested by a exotic vet I took him to. hopefully he will be fine.
