'CORONA' wont eat
I have been kind of worried. My ball python, corona, hasnt eaten in almost 2 weeks.
I had a small rat in the tank, she didnt eat it, so I took it out. The first rat got out of its enclosure. Anyways, I got another rat and had that one in the tank with her. She didnt eat it so I took it out.
I then placed the rat back in there, but still no feeding.
Now you would think the rat and corona have some kind of friendship going on. They would be face to face but nothing happens. What should I do? I've been reading, and everyone says this is normal.
Any advice?

Re: 'CORONA' wont eat
We need some background info. How old, what are temps etc. If you are feeding live, I would suggest killing the rat before leaving it in the enclosure with your BP. I would also suggest not feeding in the BP's enclosure but a seperate one. How often are you trying to feed. It is totally normal for a bp not to eat, some go months without eating. You should try to feed then if she/he doesnt eat try again in a few days and so forth.

Re: 'CORONA' wont eat
she cant be no more than 2 yrs old. the temps vary. 80-85 degrees. may drop depending on if ac is on. i have a hiding spot for her. both sides of tank are different degrees. since she was younger and smaller she would never eat a pinky, fuzzy, or hopper if they were pre killed. she likes them alive. @ one point she use to just scare the mice by moving around them and toying with them, then she would finally feed. up until now she has been eating every 6-7 days. even put my ball and the small rat in a pillow case same result.

Re: 'CORONA' wont eat
PUtting them together in a pillow is not good at all. Have you ever seen the result of bites from live feeders. It sometimes results in death. Your temps are to low. You need to bump them up to at least 90 on the warm end and around 80ish on the cool end.

Re: 'CORONA' wont eat
I agree with Marsha, up your temps, and your humidity. Don't feed in the same tank as Corona lives in - I know many people who have been bitten by the snake because they feed in the living cage. That is how I ended up with several of my reptiles. People didn't want them after being bitten by their rep that they fed in the living cage. We always feed in a separate feeding tank (sterlite or rubbermaid make some good things to feed in). We also always feed frozen pre-killed food that we warm up. Feeding live can lead to dangerous life-threatening bites and other injuries.

Re: 'CORONA' wont eat
Do you guys think that she is not eating is a direct impact because of the temps???? thanks for all the feedback. but I tried the prekilled mice and rats. she does not eat them @ all. before every feeding the mice/rats used to de disoriented. i would shake the bag or hit it up against the table. by the time the mice/rats realized whats going on it was to late.

Re: 'CORONA' wont eat
Some people cover half of the lid with a damp towel, saran wrap or foil.

Re: 'CORONA' wont eat
OK. Up the temps and the humidity, and I need to start feeding her outside of her living area. Thanks. I guess she will just eat when she gets ready to.

Re: 'CORONA' wont eat
Yes she will. One of my males went 5 mths without eating. I think it stresses us out more than it does them
