Re: 'CORONA' wont eat

I agree with everyone else that says balls are very picky and stubborn eaters. I have successfully converted my ball from live to Frozen/thawed. One of the main tricks is to use tongs and hold the mouse in them and wiggle them around so that the snake thinks that it is alive and they will strike and eat. Also if your snake has a disease called mouth rot it will stop eating until it is taken care of. BP's I have found just go through a time where they dont want to eat, but it is still best to find out if there is any underlying problems before it is too late. If there isnt any underlying problems and it still isnt feeding and it has been along time then there is "force" feeding. This should never be done by someone that dont know what they are doing, but is something that sometimes is necassary. Please post and let us know if and when your BP finally eats. If you have any other questions feel free to email me at TDRobidoux@hotmail.com.

Re: 'CORONA' wont eat

If he's not looking thin or losing a lot of weight, there is no reason to force-feed.
These animals go through phases of fasting. We don't know enough about their physiology to understand it completely but it could very well be an important part of their overall health (People who fast say it's a really healthy thing to do.)
If you are providing the right temperatures and stress-free conditions: just leave him alone for 2-3 weeks and try again. Part of owning a BP means just learning to accept his natural feeding/fasting cycles.
Good luck.

Re: 'CORONA' wont eat

Ahhhh, the joys of BP ownership. Ya need to wait it out, unless there is an obvious health issue. As long as she continues to drink, remain active, and not become emaciated. If she does show signs of serious health decline then ya need to consider force feeding, done by a professional. Best of luck

Re: 'CORONA' wont eat

If you take your snake out of the tank to feed would he not relate that to eating and bite then too. Or when you go in the tub to bring him back out he would bite then .i think the whole bit thing has a alot to do with the amount of times you take them out not just the feeding thing ....But thats just what I think

Feeding I would wait another week and see if she eats then. But forsure up your temps .
Good luck if she still wont eat some times I find the get a little scared of rats .Then I try a mouse if she eats that then just give her more small items
