There is some proof that snakes will try to canniballize at some times. Usually this leads to a regurgitation and the acid burns through or melts the part of the snake that is mostly inside the snake. Which is prettty much death. I will try and find the site that has a couple pics of this happening. They were both same sized snakes.
EDIT: I really can't find it! But I can tell you it was quite an awful site to see. Both were female balls. They also had burm cannibalization pics.

Some snakes are more prone to cannabilism than others, such as king snakes for eg, but usually if cannabilism occurs in captivity it means that the snakes were probably less-than-adequately looked after and not fed enough.

If you house a male and female together you need to be aware that they are likely to mate.

Actually as I understand it snakes that are housed together are somewhat reluctant to breed. Some spend their entire lives together without mating. People who are actively trying to breed them separate them prior to breeding season and then re-introduce them.
