oopsie! My husbands car tried to go swimming
I don't think the parking brake was on all the way. We almost had a submarine. Good thing no one was in it and no one was standing below it. Good thing that dock was sturdy. If you look at the photo, you can see the deck mooring where the car is resting. It actually came a few inches out of the dock. THANK GOD it was sunk into the bottom nice and tight.
It happened at a marina outside Baltimore. Our friends just bought a boat and we were going out on it for the day. We were loading coolers when we heard the ruckus. It was very surreal. I looked up, and there was Todd's car, not where we left it The alarm was going off as if it was yelling at us. We had to have it towed. The front is all mashed in, but the sides are bent. It slid down on its frame rails so we are sure there has to be some damage to its internals on the underside of the car. [/IMG]

Re: oopsie! My husbands car tried to go swimming
The thing I don't like, is the owner was there. The owner admitted where we were parked is very steep and there is little to no traction! There is NOTHING to keep vehicles from doing what happened. I mean, don't you think his insurance would require some sort of rails up at the top there? There are rails in a different section of parking, where there is a picnic area, but nothing to keep them from crashing into the dock.
I mean, what if some old person was there, and hit the gas instead of the brake and wasn't so lucky as us to hit a mooring and went in!
