viv ideas

Hello all, we plan on a new guest this weekend a large emperor scorpion
not sure if its a male or female but it is very large and very fat , Having never had one I do need some ideas on a viv set up I do not like a tank with newspaper not my thing, I prefer very life like setting , that said we have a clean 10 gal to set up please post or email me pics of your viv so we can get some ideas, please feel free to offer adivce....thanks

idea

Well here is what I ended up with, I used spray foam for the back ground covered with ground up walnut shells, Also made a cave of plastic wire covered with foam and hulls, there is a 1 inch tube in the wall it starts above the tank lid I made and exits near a plant works great for feeding just drop a crickett in and it slides out in the tank, the plants are real and need little care they have plastic holders with water in them , there is a small under tank heater and a water dish the only thing left I think is a temp, humidity gauge and of course the scorpion

i dont know if id use walnut shell for the scorpions bedding, but the enclosure looks great!

Hello all well she came home today! our new house guest is a emperor scorpion she is about 6-7 inches long and very very fat , thinking babys soon? she went right into the cave we made and stayed there until lights out then out she came , never had one before the sure are pretty critters she has not eaten yet but feel sure she will and here is her picture

well she seems to like her new home its 79 degrees and 81% humidity, she is very active at night but has not eaten yet , anyone know how to tell if she is going to have babys? am guessing from her size she will ?

She could just be obese...mine was I'm not sure, you'll just have to wait and see! Thanks for posting lots of pictures...we love pictures!
