This is what our member has to say: this is phoenix all I know is apparently it's a girl. hehe. i was told she could be Urodacus novaehollandiae but her colouring is different. ...

Nice scorp KiKi...Plenty of scorp owners here and should be able to identify it for you. I only have a Black Emp...so not sure what yours maybe

i'd so love to have more. and different types aswell ^_^ but alot of the gorgeous ones we can't get here cos of import laws and stuff

Ah, I take it you caught her or bought her as a locally collected scorp then? Definately Urodacus, and if you ask me I say she is Urodacus novaehollandiae. Coloration can vary slightly depending on where they where collected. What part of Australia are you in, and is that where she came from? Do you have any pics from the side? I'd like to make sure she is indeed a female.

yeah she kinda "found" us. lol. she hitched a ride to my lounge room on some firewood we bought. all I know it that it was from the south west of wa. i have a pic of her from underneath but i'm not sure if I have one of her side yet.

this is her tummy anyways.

I wish I could find cool scorpions in my backyard! I'm not sure what the pectine count is on this species, but I think males and females have slightly sexually dimorphic tails. Once you get a side view, I might be able to confirm whether she is indeed a female or not.
