Baby Scorps

This is what our member has to say: They sure seem to be the "IN" thing right now... My scorp just had babies, well, she has been having them for a few days ...

Baby Scorps

They sure seem to be the "IN" thing right now... My scorp just had babies, well, she has been having them for a few days now... and shes eaten about same amount of what we have left (12). my question is...
how long tikl the scorp is DONE having babies?????

It sometimes takes a day or 2 for them to finally stop. Leave them with mom until they molt and start to leave her back. You can then separate them and feed either pinhead crickets or crush a larger cricket.

Thanks Brian... i just want to say something tho- she started having babies saturday night, and I think yesterday she finally stopped... theres now about 10 on her back... she also ate alot of them... but it took like 5 days for her to have them, is that healthy for her??? She is still pretty chubby, and I think she may have a few more... but they probably wont make it (not past her mouth anyway)
How many on average do they have? I read anywhere between 1 - 105 or something???? thats alot...

Are they Emperors? They usually don't have as many as other species and yes mothers will sometimes eat their babies if stressed.
