some tarantula questions

hi, my bro bought his son a rose hair tarantula. i have a few questions for him. do you need to supply heat (heat pad, like my snake has)? what about lighting? tia he/she eats crickets, what else do they eat?

they need heat but not lights, lights "can" be dangerous for arachnids. they need a temp of about 82 or so. and they eat crix and other insects. and if they are big enough they can eat pinky mice.

Room temp of at least 70F is all that is needed with around 80 being optimum. Keep on bone dry peat moss, provide a hide and a water dish. Very easy to keep

i just spray a corner of the viv once a week, cos water dishes proved to be a large pain in my butt, but to each his own whichever worksbest for you.

These tarantulas can basically live in any conditions. I think the reason why they are labled as "beginner Ts" is because they are so hard to kill. If your temp goes below 70 a few degrees don't worry about it. Just make sure it bone dry as stated and it has a water dish. If it doesn't eat don't worry about that either. Either a moult is coming or they are deciding to fast. Have fun withthe rosehaired
