Neat. That *is* fortuitous! The whole process is interesting.

Re: First Molt Caught W/ Pic's ..............
Wow! I didn't know spiders molted. So is it kind of like with snakes, where they leave an empty shell behind that looks like them?

Re: First Molt Caught W/ Pic's ..............
Oh WOW! That is SO COOL! Honestly, spiders scare me, and I'd never in a million years thought I'd think that something like this was so cool, but WOW! lol Maybe if I learn more about them, I won't be as afraid of them. lol
So cool. Thank you!
So...what do you feed them, then? How many do you have?

Re: First Molt Caught W/ Pic's ..............
I currently have 14, I feed them crickets I have successfully grown and on 3rd generation, mealworms I raised, moths from outside along with grasshoppers, and I make sure I'm not using any insecticides for those. I also find maggots in my garbage, let them cocoon, place them in the refrig and then add some to each cage.

Re: First Molt Caught W/ Pic's ..............
14! lol That's a lot of spiders. But you know, the ones in your pictures are starting to grow on me. Their diet is more varied than I thought it would be. I guess I never even stopped to think what these guys would have. So crickets, mealworms, moths, grasshoppers and maggots/cocoons. How big are the grasshoppers and moths? I'm picturing these 4" grasshoppers. lol
How big do these guys get, then?

Re: First Molt Caught W/ Pic's ..............
I feed according to the size of the T, the t's get the size you see of my rosie, the goliath bird eaters, get 12" GULP. I have a variety of sizes in all deparments, oh yeah even pinkie mice are fed to the larger T's. Now that's cool to watch. Grasshoppers are 1/2" or so

Re: First Molt Caught W/ Pic's ..............
OMG! So this will sound like an ignorant question, but do the goliath bird eaters eat birds then?! 12"! Holy cow! And pinkie mice! I was going to ask that, but then thought "nah, I'm over exaggerating." lol That'll show me. Still, it must be cool to watch. (Just realized I repeated you! lol).
So do your spiders recognize you? It must be so neat to set up their habitats. Do they get misted or anything? Oh! Do they live on sand or anything in particular? I was first thinking of hollowed logs, like in the Pacific North West, even though they don't come from there, and then I was picturing rocks stacked just so on sand. At the Science center I used to go to (when I was little), they'd just have the poor spiders in these tiny little plastic octagon things on dry dirt. Even though I was afraid of them, I felt bad. It seemed too small and over exposed for a spider's liking.
