Re: Two New Additions
Nice! I'm an invertebrate enthusiast myself. What's the emperor's habitat like? If you don't mind my asking. And is that aspen you've got the rose-hair on? Not that it's a bad thing...I don't think. I've just never heard of anyone keeping a tarantula on aspen. The only downside I could think of is it's not very firm, and crickets might be able to hide pretty easy in it. But congrats on the new additions
Did you sex the emperor or do you assume it's a female?I love the hamster bowl, by the way ![]()

Re: Two New Additions
Wow, that's one strange looking hamster!
Just as cuddly, though, and far more interesting.

Re: Two New Additions
I sexed the emp myself and the tarantula is on sorta hardpacked hay sorta stuff, the crickets cant get through it I have already checked.
The Emp Is in a 2ft viv with a mix of peat moss, wood chips and spaghnum moss as the substrate, it has about 6 hides and the the temps are 30c at the hot end and 15c at the cold end. They are both eating very well and I am very happy with them ![]()

Re: Two New Additions
Sorry for chiming in so late. I would change the substrate for the rose hair to something that he can dig a burrow in and it must be something that holds moisture. Even desert T's burrow down until they find a moist enviroment to hide out in. I have a book if you want it.
