No, it's not. The scorpion in the picture had just stung one of the girls we were camping with. The man who picked it up has a lot of scorpions and knows what not to do to avoid being stung. In general, if you see a scorpion in the wild, LEAVE IT ALONE!

I've been stung hard by the black scorp's we have here in Georgia! No fun! the one in that pic is more like a large Ant!
