Nicole, i would keep your eyes out. Maybe put down those stickey strips and see what they bring in. For all you know, that one spider came in on your clothes from the market or something.

Re: HELP!!!!! Hobo spider?????
On a side note, Nicole, is it horribly expensive to board your reptiles?
So far I've been extremely fortunate never to have to board my animals, so I've never priced it.

Re: HELP!!!!! Hobo spider?????
Nicole, think about this for a second. If you just saw one of these spiders for the first time, it doesn't mean they haven't been around for a long time. Changing your routine, or becoming overly fearful wouldn't resolve anything. The liklihood that this is the first spider of this kind in your yard, house, etc. is minimal. They have been there, you just hadn't seen any up til now.

I get discounts on lots of things, and one of them is on boarding,, lol. As long as there is nothing wrong with them and they do not require any special treatment like meds and such then this is the rate. For my green meanies it is 35.00 a day, Baby Dragon and Alexis they are 15.00 a piece a day, along with each of my males, they are also 15.00 aday. My russians are 10.00 a day, my frog are 3.00 a day. My snakes are 5.00 a day, because they require little care. Here is the kicker Oscar is 50.00 a day becaus ethey have no enclosure large enough for him so he will be a free roamer in the reptile ward ,,needing constant babysitting, lol. Still all in all well worth the couple of days of rest and relaxation,,,If they stay for longer than 72 hours I will actually get a flat rate, which is actually cheaper than just having them stay 72 hours.
So even if I do nothing but sit here, it is still the well needed vacation I need.
So maybe I will watch movies and eat cheetos!lol

Oh darn, I was told they would be safe, just to not have crix or my Ts around, they wasnt near any of the herp cages though, the spray the landlord uses wasnt getting rid of the roaches, so I was kind of desperate, I placed roach bait traps and the strips.

Re: HELP!!!!! Hobo spider?????
Spiders are solitary animals. They don't run in packs or form colonies. The Bug man is going to want to do something so he can charge you a fee. I personally don't kill spiders. They're beneficial animals. I scoop them up and throw them outside unless it's a black widow or a recluse.

Re: HELP!!!!! Hobo spider?????
Another benefit is when you have webs being built inside it shows you where drafts are in your house. Spiders what that air movement to help with the trapping of food.
