Rick West is the man when it comes to spiders.

What kind of T do you have? It may have tribal hooks to it. Also you will most likely have to wait till molt time.

Based on the size of your T there's diffrent ways to find out. For adult T's look for a Bulbus (male sex organ) on the peds, not all species have tibal hooks. You can try to find out from the vent but this is a hard method and not 100%. The best way for juvies is to have a fresh Skin on hand and take a look under a lupe and try to find the Spermateke. This works on most T's that are at least 6 moths old.

The easiest and most accurate way to sex a tarantula is by using a molt.

Once the tarantula has molted, look inside, between the 2 anterior booklungs...
If it is a female there should be a visible flap, this is the uterus externus...

If it does not have this, then it is a male.

Look at the pictures and check for the difference... remember, between the 2 anterior booklungs (white spots)...

If you need any help let me know.

FEMALE B. auratum

MALE B. auratum

It is also possible to sex it ventrally, but it is difficult and rather inaccurate unless you have a microscopic picture of it... but if you can get a close up picture of the same area but from the outside of the living spider I'll take a shot at it...
