I'm curious too, what is a hobo trap, and what does it look like. I have never seen a spider trap that actually works

I researched them a bit when I had some Hobo spiders living around my apartment. Here is a link to the spider traps I looked into.

So it is like those sticky mouse traps you can get. I'm glad we don't have hobo's in MI.

Oh yeah, hobos are pretty cool little spiders  They look a lot like the lesser house spider too (a harmless species, Tegenaria domestica) because they're in the same genus ( Tegenaria agrestis for hobos). Their bite doesn't always cause such extensive necrosis though, so this woman had a severe reaction. Still, they're obviously dangerous. Interestingly, they're only native to Europe, but were introduced to the western US. I'll wind up getting one eventually

Yes, if they lived here, I think my phobia would get the better of me, and I might kill spiders I find in the house. I mostly either leave them be or put them outside. (I figure they catch all the escaped crickets, lol.)
