I want to get into scorps emp's or african red clawed. How many would be possible to pur into a 3ftL 2ftH 1ftD tank? i would like a nice little colony in there if possible.

Huh, I don't recall seeing this pop up in the New Posts section, but anyway...

Grr, now I've got to figure out what that is in gallons I'm thinking that would be something similar to a 30-40 gallon tank. If that's the case, you could probably hold at least 5 as long as you had plenty of cover for them. Floor space isn't as much a concern as long as you have enough hides available so they don't fight over good spots. The same goes for food. Keep them well fed and you shouldn't have any problems.

Cheers matt yea some one said it was around 44gal if there is such a thing? So could I have 4 fems and a male or have a male in another tank and intorduce just for breeding?

I don't think the sex of your scorpions will matter really. Emperors will typically get along well in small groups just so long as they have ample places to hide and a plentiful supply of food, so multiple males shouldn't cause problems. Despite my relative confidence in that statement, I'll see if I can find any articles to back it up. The main exception is just when one scorpion is way smaller than another, then he's chow Kudos to you for wanting to breed some. Last I checked over 200,000 emperor scorpions are taken from Africa annually for the American pet trade alone. Most don't survive.

Yea the ones I see out here are really bad looking so I was going to purchase from a friend in the uk and start a small colony I can get preg females for 20gbp each or juvis for 9.

In a tank that size you could put 15 emps and still have space left... we have a 3ft x1ft x1ft setup with 7 emperors... and they all huddle toghether in an itty bitty space inside their burrow so... its all pretty much lounge space for the crickets to chill
