I used the Reptile vet finder so I could get someone to check out Dana(RES). I've had him for almost five years and havent had him checked out yet. * Holds out my hand so everyone can go nun on it with a ruler* He was sort of thrust on me and when I got him I had absolutely no idea how to care for a reptile of any kind. So anyway, I call the only nearby doctor on the list, and they dont do turtles anymore. They referred me to another Vet who has reasonable prices. I'm taking in a poo sample to get it checked today, but they dont do blood panels. I'm hoping his fecal test comes out ok, but I hate not knowing if he has blood issues. I've already gone through the phone book asking each office if they do reptiles. The only other one that does is Banfield and it's inside a Petsmart so I dont trust it. Any ideas?

This is the problem you run into with exotic species. Often there just aren't any vets conveniently located.
Sometimes you have to make quite a drive to get to a vet that is worth their salt.

his poo sank to the bottom and I used a net to scoop it into a zip-loc bag. it'll have mixed with the little bit of water completely by the time you get to the vet, but they can still test it

good that he was seen. I would say as long as he is eating a pooping good and not losing weight and got a general OK from the vet, you are OK.

If it makes you feel any better, I haven't taken any of my frogs to the vet.

your frogs are so cute. speaking of cute, i got to see baby Bearded Dragons today, they were about 5 inches long including the tail.that was the first time I had actually seen any. i got to hold them. they're a lot more mellow than my anoles, and they're the same size!
