Anole pellets?

At a festival this weekend a friend of purchased a green anole for her daughter. It was a Medieval Faire and the lizards were marketed as "baby dragons"! Included in the purchase was a small container of what looked like bearded dragon pellets, very colorful and fruity smelling. According to the "caresheet" it was "Zoo Med Anole Food!" I thought it was a put on until I did a search and sure enough there actually is a Zoo Med Anole Pellet diet. Anybody else ever hear of this stuff? I was under the impression that anoles would only eat live insects. Anybody ever seen an anole eat a pellet?

NO, lol....and if they had them marked as baby dragons you know it had to be "beardy pellets"...as far as I know they only eat bugs and maybe the occasional fruit

Maybe you gotta put it in one of those vibrating food dishes to make it look like live food LOL...I have heard of it, but I have doubts that any anole would eat it.....Lyn

i have heard of it. i saw the same "kit" in myrtle beach, SC last year. I dont see how you can get a sight hunter to eat a prepared diet, they wont even drink from a water bowl, what makes you think that they would be able to eat pellets? yet another rediculous and useless idea thought up by our friends over at zoo-med.

...anything to make a buck.

So were they selling UVB bulbs and handing out caresheets with the 'baby dragons' or are they all doomed?

Unfortunately no. They were suppling them with a "House" which was a small Critter Keeper with small bright green gravel in the bottom and a peice of a stick also laying in the bottom.
Too bad I didn't find out about it till afterwards.

I am currently waiting on a call back from the vendor coordinator of the faire!

We will see if I can't stop this from happening at next years event!
