IDing brown anoles

I was just redoing some of my old caresheets, and came across the one on brown anoles. It dawned on me that as of now I don't know how to tell the difference between a Bahaman brown anole (Anolis sagrei ordinatus) and a Cuban brown anole (Anolis sagrei sagrei). Does anyone know the physical differences, if there are any? Or a site that explains them? I'm off to go looking.

Question

When I purchased my brown at Petsmart, it was said to be a Bahaman Brown. I'm not sure if there is much obvious difference. The pics of Cuban Browns that I googled lookedpretty much the same as what I have, but it's kind of hard to tell with just a picture. I'd be curious to know if you turned up anything on the subject.

Heh, I haven't really looked much yet I've got a lot going on right now, so IDing brown anole subspecies has been pretty low on my priority list I'll figure it out someday though if nobody else does.

Matt, take a look at these, it reads like they are one in the same and only expressing differences that were able to form in the 50 years or so of their dispersal. I'm not to up on my genetics though.

It's probably worth the time to see if you can find the whole articles. I should also be getting a search queue back in my email I'll let you know if turned anything up.

Matt, I know this is gonna hurt so I don't know how to break it to you.

This is from the 'SCIENTIFIC AND STANDARD ENGLISH NAMES OF AMPHIBIANS AND REPTILES OF NORTH AMERICA NORTH OF MEXICO, WITH COMMENTS REGARDING CONFIDENCE IN OUR UNDERSTANDING' Written by Brian Carother. (pg 33)
Quote:
two subspecies, A. s. sagrei and A. s. ordinatus were introduced to southern Florida, but they can no longer be distinguished from one another and differ from both original races.
The whole article in PDF can be found here: http://www.bio.sdsu.edu/pub/tod/standard_names.pdf

So hows it feel to NOT be able to ID something ?

lol, nooooo! I must ID them! I must! Wahh!

Ok, so the introduced FL populations have basically become a mess. They'll probably become their own new subspecies at this rate. However, the original populations in the Bahamas should still be distinguishable. Even though most (or all) of the anoles in the pet trade come from Florida, and therefore will be the same, it'd be interesting to see if there's a physical difference between the original populations
