Re: Male Green Anole Not Eating As Strongly As the Female
Yep, I agree, you need to separate them. If he had parasites, you woudln't be able to actually see them, unless you look at the poop under a microscope, you wouldn't know. Some little bugs are beneficial, some are not. Can you describe the bugs you find in the water dish? Wings? Color? Size? I randomly get fruit flies in my frog enclosures, and I purposely put beneficial bugs in there, to help with the poop.
ANd she's not really playing "hide and seek" with the giant hand. She's playing "run away from the giant monster that's trying to catch and eat me."

Mites look like flecks of pepper. I get little white/gray bugs.. they come somehow from the crickets. I find them beneficial, since they are often found on the frogs poop at the bottom of the tank.

Re: Male Green Anole Not Eating As Strongly As the Female

Re: Male Green Anole Not Eating As Strongly As the Female
If the bugs are really really small and white, they MAYBE beneficial silvertails. They eat the organic waste (poo) any left over cricket parts. I have a small colony living in my tree frog tank, they seem to hang in the water dish and surrounding area. Once I found out they were good bugs, I decided on keeping them.
