Taming Anoles

I think I want anoles in my spare 30gal tank. Can they be handled? I know that they are fast and small. But can you train them to be handled?

Re: Taming Anoles

From what I've read and understood they are pretty much a hands off species.
I've never heard of anyone taming them. Probably because you get one shot at it and then they take off never to be seen again.

Re: Taming Anoles

I got mine to tolerate my presence, I could pull the lid off of the cage and clean it and they wouldn't all scatter every which way, but that's about the extent of it, I didn't want to stress them by picking them up if they didn't need to be, they are kind of jittery.

Re: Taming Anoles

Yea they're mostly look but don't touch. If they get out they can be very hard to catch because they're so small and fast. They'll also drop their tails if picked up by them so that makes it even harder to get them.

Re: Taming Anoles

I have heard of them being tame enough to sit in your hand, but that is generally only in the cage. Mine were scared of almost everything bigger than them.
