anole eatin anole

This is what our member has to say: hello, has any one got experience of an anole eating its similar size cage mate, both females and had lived together a few months?...

Re: anole eatin anole

It usually shouldn't be an issue if they are the same size....that'd be a big meal to swallow.

Re: anole eatin anole

Did one of them kill the other, or did one of them die, and the other then started to eat it?

The latter is not unheard of. It's rare, though, to hear of a female killing and eating another female of the same size. Typically it's the males that will be aggressive enough to fight bad enough that one ends up dead.
