New to reptiles-Green Anole

Hello. I am new here and to owning reptiles. I just purchased a green tree gecko, and I am looking for some more detailed care tips besides what the store told me. I was wanting to know how to feed them (I bought meal worms from the store), how to handle them, and if they would get away from me easy if I picked them up, and about cleaning the cage and such. So any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Can you google that name? Two geckos come up with that name - a Nautilinus, which would be awesome if you have, or Phelsuma which is probably what you have. Tell us which it is please!

Glad you are here, most people are more friendly than I am.

Re: New to reptiles-Green Tree Gecko

After doing some more research I pretty positive he is a green anole. And I should change those he's to she's because she is a female. But tips would still be appreciated. I found some care guides on the net.

Hey, not a big deal. They stick to walls, right? Close enough. The pet store should know better.

Yeah it's a green anole. Don't try holding him. They change color sometimes to brown. That's about all I know.

Hi, and yes that is a green anole. I would suggest feeding crickets because mealworms are a little tough to digest for them. They will eat mealies but crickets are much better for them. If you have any other questions let us know!

what type of enclosure do you have for him? Like size, lighting, and what's in it?

Re: New to reptiles-Green Tree Gecko

Thanks for the welcomes and tips. I am currently feeding it meal worms because thats all the place had that I bought it from. I also bought one for my brother, and his is a male while mine is female. They are in the little plastic containers at the moment, but we are getting a 10 gallon tank for them both to stay in with some good peat moss and bark for a substrate, along with a tank heating pad and a heating lamp and a digital thermometer to make sure the temp is right.

Also if a moderator wants to move this topic to the appropriate section since she isn't a gecko, and change to title to Green Anole instead of Green Tree Gecko, then feel free.
