A side note...I highly doubt you will find a Nautilinus at any pet shop for sale. Due to their cost, they wouldnt bother and then mark it up even more.

Re: New to reptiles-Green Tree Gecko
Hello,
Welcome to the HC Network. You will find our users more than willing to help out. lol
I also concur that you have a green anole. One thing someone mentioned, but you didn't have listed was a UVB light. As crazy as it sounds, that little guy requires UVB in order to thrive. Without the UVB, he will eventually die. (It would take some time, but ultimately he would perish as a result of the lack of UVB.)
Anoles are fairly simple to keep once you have them setup correctly. They are also VERY easy to breed.
To save yourself money, and to create a much larger enclosure, you could use one of the screen enclosures for these little guys. I am not certain of the name of them right now, but a search on google would list them.
You would need to cover the sides with something to help retain the humidity, but that can be accomplished with clear plastic attached to the outside of the mesh.
The UV light could then be mounted internally. Since the mesh enclosures are typically tall, it would give the anole tons of space to climb and hang out. You could even add a nice live plant inside for the little guy to hang out on.

Re: New to reptiles-Green Tree Gecko
I believe Rich was thinking about the Reptarium. They are also fairly inexpensive....good luck!

Re: New to reptiles-Green Anole
UV lighting is the MOST important thing aside from the actual enclosure.

Will actual sunlight not work in place of it?

Re: New to reptiles-Green Anole
you can't put the cage in front of a window for 2 reasons.
1. you will turn your enclosure into an oven.
2. UVB doesn't go through glass. Glass blocks it.
So unless you are taking your critter outside for hours a day, I would suggest you spend the money and get a UV bulb.

Re: New to reptiles-Green Anole
Welcome. That's a cute little anole you have.
I used to have a couple, and I can add a little to the care.
You definitely want to have at least a 20 gallon tank. Tall, if you can gt it. They're climbers. You want a temperature gradient of 70-80 degrees during the day and 60-70 degrees at night, and at least one hide. They definitely need a basking area and a UVB light. Humidity should be around 65%. You should mist down the cage at least once a day. They mostly drink from off of the leaves, not their water dish, so misting the cage is important.
Other than that, their care is really easy. They are pretty hardy creatures. Small crickets and small mealworms are the best for them.
They do turn brown when they are stressed, so it's really easy to tell when they you're doing something they don't like.
