Hello,

Many people use newspaper as a substrate for varying reptiles. If you can maintain the animals requirements using newspaper, then by all means.

What does "nt" mean? We don't use abbreviations like that on this site because we all don't understand what they mean. (I have no clue what "nt" stands for and I have been using the net for a eons now. lol)

I was trying to say 'no text' in the body of the message. It didn't work anyway. Because I got a pop-up telling me I did not write enough of a message. So what I did write came out looking stupid.

Thanks. On the caresheet it mentions paper towels so I figured I was close. Not to mention she spends most of her time on the fake leaves.

I recommend a soil-immitating substrate over anything else, but as far as paper-based substrates go, paper towels are far better than newspaper for anoles. Misting the enclosure as one should can prove a messier business with newspapers, which aren't designed to handle moisture like paper towels can. Paper towels are also free of the ink so heavily present in newspaper, for the paranoid herp keeper out there. Both fall short of the humidity friendly soil substrates though.
