Re: Blue Morph American Bullfrog

Thank you He is one in a million.
My boyfriend and I actually saw him on shore about 10 feet from the pond. We just sat there and watched him for awhile and I was like why isn't he moving. So we walked over to him and I could see that his head and nose were scratched up pretty bad....and he still didn't move. He was pretty blue then but not as bright as he is now....but I still though he was a "sitting duck" so we took him. I fixed him up within a month or so but then it was too cold to return him to the wild and to be truthfull I really didn't want to. After talking to many many people about him we decided that we would keep him. I don't think taking an animal from the wild for a pet is right at all. If I wouldn't have taken him he surely would have died that day. Now he can live a peacefull life with no one trying to eat or poke at him.

Re: Blue Morph American Bullfrog

Plus that wasn't a very safe pond anyways...there is a big highway on one side. I wonder how many frogs get hit by cars trying to cross... awww.

Ya with Franky being sooo blue I'm sure he was an easy target for lots of animals. We go back to that pond a couple times a year to see if we can see any of Franky's siblings.....there are some pretty big Bullfrogs in that pond but haven't seen anymore blue!

Thanks for all the sweet comments! FrankyBlue says Crrrrrrrroak(thanks)!

Edit....you can still see the scar he has from the scratches on top of his head and on his nose.

Re: Blue Morph American Bullfrog

Wow! That's the most gorgeous bullfrog I've ever seen. Although I also don't agree with catching things in the wild and keeping them, it seems that you did him a big favor and saved his life.
