Rehoming an adult female Ig/Trip to Oregon

This weekend my mom and I will be driving into Oregon (about 6 hours) to re-home a female iguana, Gwendolin.

Gwendolin has been a classroom iguana for the past 4 years or so. I've been working to educate the teacher regarding proper husbandry. Thankfully, he's finally decided that she would be better off with someone who will be able to devote more time to her.

I'll be staying in southern Oregon (close to I-5) on Saturday and Sunday nights (arriving very late Saturday). If there are any HCN members who live in the Ashland/Medford area, I'd love to meet you! PM me so we can arrange a time and exchange contact information.

I'm also hoping to have a chance to visit with Jim Hatfield (author of Green Iguana: The Ultimate Owner's Manual) while I'm there.

You'll be missing me by a week. There is an expo in Hillsboro that i'm going to go to on the 25th and i'm going to head south towards Roseburg off of I-5 to see my family. (If the weather allows!)

Jenna tells me that Gwendolyn is adjusting nicely. She's not eating a whole lot yet, but enjoying having SPACE to live in!

When I went to the school to pick her up, she was FREEZING cold. But I bought a power converter and plugged it into one of the car's power ports and plugged a heating pad to that, then I covered the carrier with a blanket... Gwendolyn stayed nice and toasty! Probably warmer than she'd ever been.

We spent Saturday afternoon with Jim Hatfield... went to lunch, he gave us a tour of the area, then we went back to his home for dessert. It was a GREAT day. And NO, I still haven't asked him to autograph his book.
